Last updated October 14, 2026. This policy covers Hair by Nikolai, a hair salon in South Pasadena, California, our website, and our text messages.
What we collect
When you book or visit, we keep the details you give us: your name, mobile number, email address, and appointment and purchase history. If you agree to receive review-request texts, we also record that you agreed and when. If you text us photos of your hair before a color consultation, we receive those photos and your mobile number.
How we use it
- To book, manage, and check out your appointments.
- To review your hair photos and prepare for your color consultation.
- To send review-request texts, only if you have opted in.
- To answer your questions and keep our records accurate.
Your photos
Photos you send for a consultation are used only to plan your color. We never post or share them without your permission, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Text messaging and your mobile number
We use your mobile number for review-request texts only after you agree at checkout and confirm by replying YES. Texting us photos does not sign you up for review requests or any other messages. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except service providers that deliver the messages on our behalf.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the salon, including our booking and checkout systems and a text-messaging provider that delivers our texts. They handle your information only to provide those services to us.
Your choices
Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving messages. Reply HELP for help.
Email hello@hairbynikolai.com or ask us at the salon to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, including your photos. California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act.
How long we keep it
We keep client records while you are a client and for a reasonable time after. Consultation photos are kept only as long as they help with your color, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Records of text-message consent are kept for as long as we may text you, and afterward as proof of consent.
